Stereo Turntable Market

Definition
A turntable is the circular spinning platform of a phonograph (record player, gramophone, turntable, etc.), a device for playing sound records. The phonograph is a device invented in 1877 for mechanically recording and reproducing sound. It is also known as a gramophone in its later variants. The sound vibration waveforms are recorded as matching physical variations of a spiral groove engraved, etched, incised, or impressed into the surface of a rotating cylinder or disc, known as a "record." To reproduce the sound, the surface is similarly rotated while a playback stylus traces the groove and is so vibrated by it, replicating the recorded sound very faintly. The stylus vibrated a diaphragm in early acoustic phonographs, producing sound waves that were connected to the open air via a flare horn or directly to the listener's ears using stethoscope-style earphones.
Constant turning speed is critical for good sound reproduction; transcription turntables used by radio stations are weighted to reduce speed changes and are powered by synchronous motors. Though numerous drive mechanisms were tested in early phonographs, the electric motor, cushion-mounted to decrease vibration, became the most extensively used.
A phonograph, often known as a record player, is a device used to reproduce sounds by vibrating a stylus, or needle, along a groove on a rotating disc. A phonograph disc, often known as a record, preserves a duplicate of sound waves as a series of undulations in a sinuous groove written on the rotating surface of the disc by the stylus. When the record is played back, another stylus responds to the undulations and converts its motions into sound.
