Poultry Health Market

Definition

Management of poultry health In order for a program to be effective, its main goals must be to stop diseases or parasites from spreading, identify diseases or parasite infestations early on, and treat any flocks that are afflicted with either of these conditions as soon as possible, before they become serious, or before they infect other flocks. In order to accomplish this, one must be able to identify diseased birds, know what steps to take to avoid or minimize illness, and be able to spot indicators that the prevention program is having an effect. Poultry are a major source of valuable high-quality protein for much of the world's population, so food security is heavily dependent on maintaining poultry health. They are also increasingly important as specialist hobby animals in back-yard flocks. Despite this, veterinarians specializing in the care and health of these important domestic animals are few and far between, and many vets in small animal practice have little real experience of poultry health management and disease.

The isolation of the flock from disease causing organisms – quarantine. The destruction of as many harmful organisms as possible – hygiene. The use of an appropriate vaccination program – trigger the birds' immune system

Market Dynamics

Driver

A few important variables that are crucial to poultry health are rising demand for poultry products worldwide. Due to population increase and rising individual consumption, it is anticipated that demand for chicken meat and eggs would continue to rise. No matter the location or economic level, the market for poultry meat is expected to grow, with emerging regions seeing slightly faster per capita development than developed ones.

Numerous microorganisms can cause a wide range of illnesses in humans and animals, from minor ailments to life-threatening conditions and even death. Depending on the zoonotic disease, animals may appear healthy even while they are harboring germs that can make humans ill, hence raising awareness of zoonotic diseases and the need of biosecurity is necessary.

In order to be both commercially successful and environmentally sustainable, the poultry industry is also very quick to adopt new technologies, including biotechnology, mechanization, robotics, and climate and nutrient control.

Restraints

Strict guidelines pertaining to the usage of specific medications in poultry. high expenses related to creating and promoting novel poultry health products. illness outbreaks that result in financial losses and culling. Lack of expertise and experience in chicken husbandry, scarcity of high-quality feed, disease concerns, restricted access to vital inputs like vaccinations and agricultural and veterinary extension services, and inadequate financial resources and capital are all factors. The study also identified other difficulties, such as severe weather that affects feed.

Opportunity

The promise of automation and robotics to save labor costs, be available around-the-clock, and allow for remote reporting sparked a lot of interest. Robotic technology can incentivize layer hens and broiler breeders to walk around the home, increasing fertility and decreasing the likelihood of floor eggs, as well as enhancing the health and welfare of the birds and requiring less effort. A farmer can benefit from the robot's ability to save up to 50% of their time, cut down on visits by two thirds, and enhance working conditions.

A healthier, more fruitful growth environment may come from robotic technology that employs artificial intelligence to assist farmers in making data-driven decisions on the production of broilers. Encourage the birds to be more active by using robotics to build their muscle mass. This will boost their feed conversion ratio in the long run.

Real-time visibility into a variety of aspects, including the circumstances within the poultry house, bird performance, health, and welfare, is made possible via remote sensing. Not only can the farmer monitor the condition of the sheds and birds whenever they choose to check the computer, but more significantly, the data from these sensors can be programmed to send management "alerts" in the event that any parameter deviates from the established guidelines for the particular age of birds on a round-the-clock basis.
