Electric DC Motor Market 


A DC motor is a type of electric motor that converts direct current electrical energy into mechanical energy. When the DC motor's field coil is turned on, an air gap magnetic field is created. The generated magnetic field runs parallel to the armature's radii. The field coil's armature receives the magnetic field from the north pole and "exits" from the south pole side. The conductors on the other pole are subjected to a force of same magnitude but applied in the opposite direction. The torque created by these two opposing forces causes the motor's armature to rotate.

The final and most obvious reason to use DC motors is their affordability; while brushless and permanent magnet DC motors are more expensive, they remain less expensive than AC motors. Brushless motors have an unusually long lifespan, which provides a cost advantage. Brush motors are less expensive, but their low repair costs outweigh the disadvantages of their shorter lifespan and frequent replacement requirements. This element supported the growth of the electric DC motor market.
